Dry Skin SOS

As someone with sensitive skin, whenever I do use a product that doesn’t agree with my face, I’m often left battling super dry and sore skin, whether that be in the winter or in the height of summer – and it’s a bit of a pain. I still can’t put my finger on what ingredients I’m allergic to (even some of my holy grail products affect me some days!) but over the years I’ve found some real gems when it comes to combating the problem. Skincare that I know will fix my skin and I trust will do the job.

When it comes to skincare, one of my favourite brands is Clinique. My mam and nana have always been big fans of the brand, so I’ve grown up accustomed to their products, and the amazing work they do. When it comes to removing my makeup, I reach for the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm which is the absolute bees knees if I’m honest. I find it really satisfying watching it melt away any of my makeup from the day, and is such a great first step when it comes to cleansing my face, especially in the evening. My skin tends to get quite sore when it’s feeling sensitive, and it is something that doesn’t at all irritate it further. Other products of theirs that I love are the Moisturise Surge Overnight Mask (which also doubles up as a super strength daytime moisturiser if my skin is extra dry – normally around my nose!) and the All About Eyes rich cream which does a lovely job of keeping my eyes from getting sore either.

Aside from those products, one of my all time favourites is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask which gets a lot said about it and for good reason. Not only does it smell blummin’ insane (it’s sort of like smothering your face in jam – in the best way possible!) but whenever I apply it at night, I know I’ll wake up in the morning with my face looking and feeling much more plump and full of life (which, when early is a miracle FYI). And a recent find of mine is the Simple Water Boost Hydrating Booster, which I wouldn’t describe as being a cream, but more of a serum that can be used on its own and added to moisturiser to give it that extra help. It applies almost with a water-like consistency which at first I wasn’t sure would do much good, but I find that it really helps reduce my skin from feeling tight as well as giving it some much needed hydration throughout the day. Currently half price in Boots (would 10/10 recommend), I’ve already bought myself a few backups, as although the product doesn’t last months, I’ve been using it daily before applying makeup and I’ve really noticed a difference in the texture of my skin.

What are your dry skin saviours? I’m always looking for new ones to try!

Clinique skincare is one of my favourites, especially the moisture surge range! Never seen the Simple Booster before, will have to pick it up whilst it’s half price xx

I really need to get onto the Origins Overnight Mask bandwagon, heard so many good things yet I still haven’t tried it! 🙂 xx
