It’s safe to say, over the last few months especially, my skin has been feeling super stressed out. Prone to blemishes, I always really struggle to tackle them as I typically react to many of the typical remedies. However, I think I’ve finally found myself a skincare routine that has my skin looking the best it has done for a long time and it was about time I shared it with you.
In terms of beating blemishes, there’s one skincare brand that I’ve really been enjoying using recently, and that is the La Roche Posay Effaclar range. Gentle enough for my sensitive skin, there are three products I’ve been using for a little while that have made a huge difference in clearing up any breakouts and scarring. First things first, once I’ve removed my makeup, I tend to reach for the La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel* which I use twice daily to cleanse my face. Not only does it leave my skin feeling super clean and refreshed, but I’ve really found it keeps any oiliness at bay and helps stop any blemishes in their tracks. And once I feel like any remaining makeup has gone, I’ll typically apply the La Roche Posay Effaclar Purifying Mask* quite liberally on the areas that need it most (i.e. chin, forehead etc). I’ll leave it on for 5 minutes before washing off, and I have to say – I love this mask. I typically struggle to find masks that suit my skin and in fact this is the first I’ve found that hasn’t caused my skin to react even once, so I’ll certainly be keeping it as part of my staple routine. I feel like it really gives my skin a deep cleanse which makes for such a lovely treat twice a week. And if my skin is behaving extra bad (i.e. when I’ve been stress eating all of the chocolate, because let’s be real, it happens) then before going to bed I’ll apply a tiny amount of the La Roche Posay Effaclar A.I. Targeted Imperfection Corrector*. Now I’m going to be honest, the first few times I used this, it stung like ‘holy mother of god my face is burning’ but I swear down, this stuff is a miracle worker. Whenever I use it, the next morning I’ll always notice a difference. For me, blemishes usually last a good week or so before they decide to take their leave, but since using this in my skincare routine, within a couple days it’s time to say bye bye. Crazy right?!
As my skincare routine has involved using a lot of heavier products (well, products designed to tackle breakouts), I’ve made sure to keep the rest very minimal and very basic to keep my skin calm at all times. And it’s actually worked! When it comes to removing my makeup before cleansing, I’ve been using the ol’ classic Bioderma Sensibio Micellar Water* which leaves takes off any makeup at the end of the day, which in itself has made a difference to the state of my skin. Since I’m often prone to dry patches, I’ve been combating this with the Bioderma Sensible Light Moisturiser* that I apply twice a day. It’s certainly more of a light formula, so I’m not sure it would do the job in the winter, but for over the warmer months it’s been ideal.
So what skincare products do you swear by?
Please note: Although I was sent products for review, this post isn’t at all sponsored and all words are my own. I just happen to really love the skincare!
