Whilst to tend to change around what I use day to day, there’s been a few products that’ve recently made their way into my daily makeup bag that I thought I’d share with you today. With the weather being a little warmer *hooray Summer* I’ve found myself favouring a more dewy/natural looking makeup look with a warm eye so here are my favourite products to do that.
I’ve been focusing mainly on my base recently, trying to perfect that dewy and barely there sort of vibe that is a lot more difficult to do then you’d expect, ha. For foundation, I’ve been mixing my Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation with a little moisturiser and applying with a damp beauty sponge to get that skin-like finish that I love oh so much right now. Concealer-wise, I’ve been reaching for this Clarins Instant Concealer which gives a fair amount cover without feeling drying or cakey at all on the skin. It does take some setting to keep in place, but I’d typically set my makeup with powder anyway so I’m not too bothered!
On the cheeks, using this bareMinerals Blush in Cheerful that adds a really lovely flush to my face. I find the shade suits my pale skin tone, but I imagine it’s quite universal. And a little goes a long way! Keeping in with dewy look, I’ll normally achieve this with a heap of highlighter (yes, I’m a bit late to the highlighter bandwagon) and one of my faves is the Smashbox L.A. Lights Lip & Cheek Colour which adds the most beautiful sheen to the cheekbones.
As I can’t get away without wearing eye makeup (I look like an egg) I’ve found myself reaching for this NIP + FAB Contour Palette in Dark* that makes for the perfect warm eyeshadow palette. I never thought I’d find myself loving orange eyeshadows, but I’m loving it particularly blended along the lower lash line. It’s something a little different to a neutral eye, and with lashings of mascara (this Rimmel Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara is amazing) I’m good to go. And if I’m after that little something extra, then MAC Eyeshadow in Amber Lights is a summer must.
Finishing it all off with a lip gloss. You read that correctly, lip gloss. I’ve been wearing this Smashbox Lip Gloss in Pink Lady every day without fail. It’s certainly not a pink as the name suggests, and it looks slightly scary in the tube, but fear not, it’s the most lovely nude (almost golden) wash of colour on the lips. The formula itself isn’t sticky (you ain’t gonna get no hair sticking to it when you go outside here) and I’m really digging’ it.
What’s in your daily makeup bag this Summer? I’d love to hear your recommendations!
