Hey, it’s been a while hasn’t it?! With my final few months of University in full swing, it’s safe to say these past few months have been hectic. I have deadlines almost every week and many assignments that are far from being finished, so unfortunately blogging has fallen by the wayside. However, I thought I’d share with you a little update into what’s been happening recently!
So as I mentioned, I’m in my final year of University, so it could only mean one thing – it’s that dreaded dissertation time. My dissertation is a little different to your typical 10,000 word essay, but instead I’m creating a 100-page magazine, that covers everything from fashion to beauty to careers advice which I’m really excited about. I’m aiming to do a full post about the journey once it’s finally completed, but so far it’s been an experience for sure – trying to organise editorial photoshoots and arrange interviews has proven tricky. However I know it’ll be all worth it in the end… hopefully!
It’s also been a few crazy weeks in terms of my blogging, with plenty of things going on behind the scenes. First of all, I finally upgraded my camera *cue the celebratory party poppers*!! It’s been a long time coming, as I’ve been using my trusty Nikon D40 for the past 8 years and taped together with a cracked screen, it was due an upgrade. So lo and behold, I finally made the leap and bought a newer model, the Nikon D610 which is the first full frame camera I’ve used. It’s going to take some getting used to (and my next few posts were scheduled in before upgrading my camera) so it may be a couple of weeks before I start showing images taken on it over on here – but I can’t wait to finally upgrade my photography game. I’ve had my head burrowed in the camera’s manual the past few days so I can get around all of the new features I’ve got to play with.
Especially for London, as I’m heading down to the big city for a couple of days in the middle of March. Despite being an anxious person, I really love spending time in London as there’s so much to do and see. So when I was given the perfect excuse to head down, I jumped at the chance, as I’m lucky enough to have been invited along to The Prince’s Trust Celebrate Success Awards at the London Palladium in a few weeks time. It’ll be the first time I’ve attended an event on my own outside of my native North East so I’m finally a bit daunted by it all, but I can’t wait to meet with other bloggers and celebrate the success of The Prince’s Trust, which are a charity very close to my heart. I’ll be doing a more detailed post about them nearer the time, so look out for that one!
So all in all, it’s been a whirlwind of a couple of weeks, with no sign of letting up – in the best way! For the first time in a little while I’m feeling really positive about whats to come, as I finally feel like I may be making progress when it comes to battling my anxiety demons. It’s going to be a real rollercoaster, with mini meltdowns being common place I’m sure, but I’m ready!
