2016, what a odd year it was. If I’m honest, I’m really quite happy for this chapter of my life to come to an end and move onto my next. Don’t get me wrong, it has had many highs; making many amazing friends who I wouldn’t be here without, having plenty of incredible blogging opportunities and even attending a champagne reception hosted by Anna Wintour that was a real pinch-me moment I certainly won’t forget in a hurry. However, not to be too much of a negative nancy, it’s also been a very tough year for my family, filled with a lot of illness and bad news which has led to some pretty poor mental health of my own that I’m learning to deal with day by day. It would be wrong of me to say I’m feeling better, because frankly, I’m ending 2016 in a funny place, but I feel optimistic and hopeful for the first time in a long time so I’m going to run with it and see where the next 12 months take me.
I’m going to do a more detailed post talking about my goals and resolutions as I have some big changes ahead of me this year which is all rather daunting and exciting in equal measure. However, I can safely say that I can’t wait to see what 2017 brings me. What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger and I feel ready to take on whatever challenges may arise on my journey yet.
There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.
