When it comes to my personal style, in the past 12 months I really feel like I’ve developed what my own style and what I feel most comfortable in. I’ve also discovered that I love to try out new ways of styling things up, so when the lovely people over at New Look challenging me up some double denim I couldn’t refuse!
I think double denim gets a lot of negative stick, but I think it’s a totally doable look (unless you hate this look, which is, erm… awks) as long as you mix and match shades and different textures to break it up. Whilst browsing the site, I caught my eyes on this incredible denim jacket with a pink faux fur statement collar that totally had me at hello. It’s amazing isn’t it?! Oh and get this, it’s shearling lined inside so super cosy too – score! I know it’s one of those pieces that’s going to take me through every season and I’m sure it’s going to be one of my staple wardrobe pieces for a very long time. With this in mind, I thought it would be best to use this as the focal point of the outfit and style everything around it. Of course I just had to wear these cropped kick flare jeans which are just my holy grail jean which I now own in every colour, oops. And top tip, if double denim really scares you, opt for black denim – it really makes the difference!
Metallic footwear is one of those trends I’ve been loving for a while now, but as an alternative to my space boots that are practically attached to my feet, I decided it would be fun to give loafers a go. I spotted this pewter loafers in the New Look sale and knew paired with fishnet socks (thank the Primark gods I finally found some in my local store!) they’d really add a little something extra to my outfit.
Outfit aside, one of my main goals for this year, was to really up my game when it came to my blog’s photography, so when I discovered Emma Griffy, a local blogger and photographer, I jumped at the chance at collaborating with her on this post. I’m really really really happy with how these photographs turned out, they’re a little different to my usual style but I thought it would be fun to try something new (and it’ll hopefully be a more permanent feature)! What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
So would you wear a double denim outfit? I hope you enjoy how I’ve styled it!
