At the end of last year, I was really lucky to rather excitingly win a competition held by Miss Makeup Magpie to win a £100 Escentual Voucher. So after much deliberation (trust me, I could’ve spent a lot over on their website) I chose a few goodies to treat myself to in the New Year.
With that in mind, I thought I’d go for a few things I wouldn’t necessarily go into a store and buy for myself any day; perfume and higher-end makeup. This was actually the first Christmas where I haven’t asked for a new perfume, so I thought that would be a good place to start and I chose the Giorgio Armani Si Eau de Toilette which makes the perfect daytime scent. It was a little bit of a gamble (as I hadn’t smelt it prior to ordering it!) but having seen lots of positive things written about it I decided to give it a go and thankfully, I absolutely love it.
Moving on, I thought I’d treat myself to two makeup products that I’ve had my eye on for a while. When it comes to makeup, I often go for what looks pretty; namely new eyeshadows and lip colours. So with that in mind, I decided to go with two face products; this Clarins Instant Concealer in 01 which I hope will be the perfect concealer to cover my dark circles, and a Clarins Blush Prodige Illuminating Cheek Colour in Rosewood which is lovely dusky rose shade. My skin has a tendency to look quite flat, so I’m looking forward to incorporating this into my daytime routine and adding some much-needed life to my cheeks.
As my luck had it, Escentual have a French Pharmacy Skincare offer on at the moment and I of course decided to take full advantage. Skincare baffles me, but after some recommendations from their lovely staff, I decided to pick up the Avene Cleanance Anti-Blemish Set which I’m hoping will help me in treating the pesky blackheads and break outs I’m currently suffering with around my mouth. As my skin is really dry and sensitive, I often struggle to find products that tackle blemishes but are gentle enough for my skin, so I’m really looking forward to seeing if these do the job. And with a little extra to spend, I bought myself a bottle of the La Roche-Posay Serozinc that I’ve heard plenty of people rave about.
Have you tried any of these products? I’d love to know what you think!
