Growing up as the smallest in my friendship group, I’ve always been really conscious of looking short especially when it comes to clothing. So for a long time midi-skirt were a thing I never in a million years thought I’d find myself loving – until now! A couple of months back now, I had some time to kill and whilst browsing my local Miss Selfridge store, spotted this denim midi amongst the sale racks. It’s totally different to what I’d normally wear, but something about it caught my eye and with there only being one available in my size, I thought I’d give it a go. Boy am I happy I did, because it’s quickly become one of my favourite pieces of the moment! With the weather being hot and sunny one minute and cold and windy the other (thanks England), this skirt is proving to be the perfect transitional piece! It just goes to prove that stepping outside of your personal style comfort zone often pays off eh? I’m currently eyeing myself up a metallic midi pleated skirt next..!

Having spent a lot of time over on Pinterest recently, I couldn’t help but try out this stripes and cami-top layering combination that’s all over my boards at the moment. Now I’m definitely not *cool* enough for a wardrobe of perfectly matched basics (those who do – tell me all your secrets!), but having spotted this ASOS cami brand new with tags in a charity shop for a few pounds, I couldn’t resist. I mean, look at how darn cute the scalloped detailing is?! I love how it adds a laid-back vibe to my outfit, and I’m sure I’ll be wearing this combo a lot over this coming season. It’s a great way of updating an outfit on a budget if you’re like me and own an abundance of striped tops!

Are there any pieces out of your comfort zone that you’ve recently started to love? Or any you’re wanting to try? I’d love to hear about them!

I used to steer clear of longer length skirts too, now I spend most of my days in them!
I really like this look! The cami is such a good find.

Im really in love with the Baker Boy hat and I love that you've do a cami over a top rather than a dress like everyone else. Such a cute outfit!

I wish I could find things that nice in a charity shop! The ones near me are filled with yellowing crockery…
