Long time no see, eh? Well, I’m not going into huge details but this past month has been a total whirlwind – with my granddad dying, my brother getting really unwell and my anxiety reaching an all time high, I had to step back and give blogging a break. I’d like to say things are resolved, but they aren’t just yet, so things could still be a little sporadic (sorry!), but I went out photographing with Helen yesterday and thought I’d share with you the outfit that I wore.
With life dealing me and my family a bad card, the past few weeks have called for a lot of lazy dressing – e.g. my inner-emo jeans, converse and a t-shirt combo. I’ve always been a dresses and skirts kinda girl, however, you know when you just find those dream jeans and you can’t get them off your back? Well, these cropped kick flares from Topshop are just that pair. I picked up these in the black over the Christmas sales and fell in love with how well they fit me, so when I spotted the same style in this wash I couldn’t resist. They were in the sale, and after many times missing out (I’d been waiting months to have the money to buy them) I couldn’t resist treating myself to them when I found a pair recently. Clinging onto our final few days of Summer (how is it September, how?!) this pink denim jacket was a total must as well as this blouse that I discovered in my local Primark a few weeks ago. From the frill neck, to it’s delicate print and 3/4 length sleeves, I just had to.
Keeping accessories down to a minimum, I chose to wear one of my latest additions – this GUESS Connect Watch that the lovely people over at Debenhams kindly sent to me to try out. I’ve always been a bit forgetful when it comes to watches, but this one has been firmly fastened onto my wrist since I laid eyes on it. Not only is it a beautiful watch, but it’s also very clever too. Paired with my phone, this watch notifies me if I have any incoming texts/calls/emails and allows me to make calls from it. It feels all very Spy Kids-esque and it certainly feels very badass using it contact people – it’s one of those novelties that I don’t think will ever get old!
So what are your lazy dressing essentials? Anyone else a jeans and converse convert like myself?
