A Few New Makeup Favourites

In the last few months or so, I’ve acquired a few new makeup products that have become staples in my routine, so today I thought I’d share those with you. I’m not one for huge makeup hauls, as I tend to use a lot of the same products on a day to day basis but I’m really enjoying these five products this month!

Clinique Superbalanced Silk Foundation* – When it comes to foundation, I tend to reach for drugstore versions (purely because this girl is on a budget) but after using this Clinique foundation for a few weeks I’ve been converted! I wasn’t too sure what to expect as it describes itself as having a matte foundation, and I normally go for dewy finishes but I absolutely love how natural this foundation looks. The shade (silk porcelain) is perfect for me and it’s medium coverage perfectly balances some unbalance colouring in my skin, which I’m really happy about. I’m not a big fan of the bottle itself (damn is this stuff tricky to get out of the bottle) but thankfully a little goes a long way and paired with a beauty blender, I’m sure I’m going to be using this for a while.

Lorac Pro 3 Palette – I already own the Lorac Pro 1 and 2 Palettes and they’re my favourite eyeshadow palettes to use, so of course, I jumped at the chance at getting my hands on the third palette (thanks to Lucy picking it up in America for me!). Like the previous palettes, there is 8 matte and 8 satin eyeshadows in this one, and I can honestly say they’re all colours that I’m able to use on a daily basis. Apart from the shade medallion, which is particularly gritty, the rest of the eyeshadows are super soft and blend out beautifully. I’m really looking forward to getting more use out of the cranberry-type shade once the autumn rolls in, it’s such a wonderful shade!

Collection Face Palette – When it comes to buying makeup, I’m always drawn to eye and lip products rather than face products (mainly because they’re prettier…) but when looking for some new drugstore makeup to give a go, I thought I’d try out this Collection palette. It has two blushes, one peachy and one slightly duskier, as well as a bronzer and a highlighter – all which are pigmented and perfect for my pale complexion. The bronzer is slightly on the warmer side, but after a little blending it suits me fine and the highlighter is a great for everyday use. I’m certainly going to be trying out more of their products next time I’m in Boots!

Benefit Watt’s Up* – One brand I’ve never really delved into when it comes to makeup, is Benefit. It’s always been slightly out of my price range, but I was recently kindly gifted this and you can imagine my excitement when it arrived in the post! Probably a product I’m going to get more use from in the warmer months, I’ve been wearing this cream highlighter almost daily across the tops of my cheekbones and under the brow bone blended out. Whilst it’s slightly too warm-toned again for me (yay for being wonderfully pale) after some blending I’m good to go.

Ciate Wonderwand Mascara* – Mascara is one of those things for me that I’ll either love or hate. I tend to wear a lot of mascara on a daily basis, so there’s a few things I look for when I’m trialling new mascaras; that they add some length/volume, that they look the same by the end of the day, and that they don’t smudge throughout the day (which 99% of the ones I’ve tried unfortunately do!). But thankfully, this mascara ticks all of the boxes and even after only a week’s use, I can safely say I’ll be picking up another once this tube runs out! Plus I love the packaging, so that’s cool too.

So what are your current makeup favourites? Anything you think I should try out? (My student loan is due in a few days so I’m allowed to feel spendy..! ; ))

Thank you for the recommendations! The Collection face palette colours look really pretty. I've also heard good things about the Ciate mascara and Benefit's Watt's Up so I might check them out too.
