As someone who doesn’t travel by plane very often, a visit to World Duty Free is always on the cards whenever I have the opportunity. So when I went away two weeks ago, it may of been a slightly ungodly hour, however I jumped at the chance of a VIP shopping experience thanks to World Duty Free. Greeted by the lovely staff at the Newcastle Airport store, me and my family were treated to free drinks whilst we browsed and were introduced to many of the different brands on offer. Me and my mam were taught all about skincare from the team at Lancome, given makeovers at Benefit and had a fragrance consultation at YSL leaving us feeling very pampered and with bags full of goodies to try – as two nervous travellers, I can assure you how grateful we were!
One thing I love about WDF (as well as the killer discounts, like things could’ve got crazy) are their exclusives, of which I was kindly able to choose some of my favourites to show and review for you guys. When it comes to high-end beauty, I’m always a big fan of testing foundations to see if you really get what you pay for. So I decided on this Lancome Teint Visionnaire that I’m naming my new summer foundation (as it’s a smidge too dark for my paler months). A pretty heavy coverage, what I like about this is that it comes with a corrector/concealer in the lid – genius right? I’m looking forward to testing this out over the next few weeks, no doubt you’ll see it in future blog posts to come. Keeping with Lancome, I also picked up the three pack of their Lancome Grandiose Mascara that I’ve heard incredible things about as well as their Absolute Nude Palette that has everything you could possibly ever need in a palette. When it comes to packaging, there’s no doubt that YSL are one of the leaders of the pack – their iconic gold packaging (and pink marble-esque effect on the top of this palette) always has me at hello, so I’m really looking forward to trying out this Face Palette (link coming soon) that is almost too pretty to use. Just look at it.
One brand that I’ve grown up using is Clinque (as I come from a family of big fans) so I have to say, possibly my favourite of them all is this bronze palette that’s a travel exclusive (link coming soon). As well as a large bronzer (a summer must), it also has two of their eyeshadows and two lip colours in the palette. What I love about this palette in particular is the choice of shades, I love their richness and I’m sure I’ll get use of them all year round. And as well as makeup, I decided on giving bareMinerals skincare a go. I’ve always been a huge fan of their makeup, but having not heard much about their skincare, I was intrigued to give it a go in the form of this bareMinerals Gentle Deep Cleansing Foam (link coming soon). As someone who has super sensitive skin, I’m a little unsure whether this will work for me or not, but I’m looking forward to giving it a go and reporting back to you on that one. And finally, you just can’t pass through World Duty Free without picking up fragrance, now can you? As well as the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess that I forgot to photograph (bad blogger), I fell head over heels for these Chloe perfumes. For as long as I can remember, Chloe perfumes have been my signature scent, so I couldn’t resist this Parfum de Roses Miniatures Set – I mean, look at how cute they are?! Adorable.
And what’s great about World Duty Free is that you can now buy online and reserve to pick up in store which I think is great. It’s all too easy to find yourself browsing for too long and find yourself running to your departure gate, so I’ll certainly be using this service next time I’m passing by.
I thought it would be lovely to treat your readers to something as a little thank you for sticking with me and my blog over the past few years. So, I’ll be running this competition over the next few weeks to win yourself this World Duty Free exclusive gift set – that contains three of the blogger favourite Clarins Instant Natural Lip Profector in pink, orange and red.
