My Top 5: Spring Nail Polishes

Nail polish is one of those beauty products I always find myself attracted to when I’m looking for something new to try. I have a rather large collection and I often change my nail colour every other day. When it comes to colour preferences it varies, but there’s something about the Spring time that makes me favour the dusty/pastel shades and here are some of my favourites.

& Other Stores Nail Polish in Orchid Mauve – I was in London a couple of months back for the day, and with a few hours to kill, a trip to & Other Stories was top of the agenda. I gave myself a pretty strict budget but decided to treat myself to a couple of the beauty products, including two nail polishes that caught my eye. Their packaging alone is a dream, but this shade which is my perfect shade of dusty rose makes it a match made in heaven. The formula is lovely; I find it opaque in only two coats and lasts a good five or so days without chipping.

Nails Inc Nail Polish in Bridle Lane (similar linked) – Whenever I’m in my local TK Maxx shop, one of the first places I’ll check out is their beauty selection. Whilst I’m yet to find any great bargains when it comes to makeup, I’ve found many of my favourite nail polishes there – including this Nails Inc one in Bridle Lane. A shade I’m not sure is available anymore (although there’s plenty similar!) this is another dusty rose, slightly more on the peach side that is an ideal daytime colour. This one also has a great formula (as all Nails Inc polishes I’ve tried do!) and one I reach for time and time again.

Models Own Nail Polish in Utopia – An oldie but a goodie, this Models Own nail polish has to be one of my most worn over the past 5 years or so. It’s not the best shade when my nails are shorter (as it can highlight that) but when my nails are looking that little bit longer like they do now, I love this as a Spring shade. It’s somewhere between a white, a lilac and a grey. If you haven’t tried out any Models Own polishes I’d certainly recommend them – there’s quite a few on my wishlist that I’m lusting after!

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry in Eat My Dust – Barry M are one of my favourite drugstore brands when it comes to nail polish. I love how often they have new shades and innovation formulas come out, one of my favourites being the one photographed above. It’s a pastel cornflower blue so is perfect for this time of year and it does what it says on the bottle; dries down super quickly – great for those of us who often get too impatient and smudge their nails all too frequently (it can’t just be me who does this…)!

Topshop Nail Polish in Birthday Suit (similar linked) – Probably the most ‘out-there’ shade of the selection, it’s probably also my most-worn. A gift from a friend for my birthday last year, it’s not necessarily a shade I would’ve picked up myself but I absolutely love it. I’d describe the shade as being a muted teal colour, it’s a great go-to colour if I’m not feeling the nudes or pastels the majority of my collection is. I’m a big fan of the Topshop nail polish formulas as they are always opaque in just two thin coats and can last a good week or so with minimal chips. One of my favourite formulas when it comes to lighter shades especially.
