One of my style resolutions this year was to step outside of my comfort zone, as I’m one who tends to stick to what they know. Prints always tend to catch my eye (the amount of printed skirts I own is crazy) but when it comes to shoes, I’m normally a plain jane and go for what’s comfy. I’d been spending a lot of my time on my Pinterest and knew I’d wanted to try out a pair of leopard print ankle boots – there’s something very late 60s/early 70s about them and their fit which really appealed to me, as that’s my favourite style era in general. Anyhow, I was shopping with my mam in the Next sale on Boxing Day (I know, we’re those type of people) and admittedly didn’t really expect to find much. But alas, I spotted these leopard print pony skin ankles boots on the shelves, in my size and I quite frankly couldn’t resist.
Although I’ve not worn them outside yet (blame the rainy weather!), I can’t wait to get styling them and already have plenty of ideas of things to pair them with. I’ve compiled a little wishlist of pieces I think would really compliment them! As you can probably see, I’m all for the 70s inspired clothing that seems to be hitting the high-street by storm this season. Flares, high necks and denim – I can’t seem to get enough of it. If there’s one colour that I find really compliments leopard print (excluding black/grey), it’s red and although a colour I rarely wear, I’ve already picked up a few red items recently. I can definitely see it being my colour of the season! The colour palette of the 70s trend is one of my favourites, bring on all the mustard, navy and red hues, right?!
