A lesson I learnt this week was that sometimes it’s good to just take a step back from the online world and appreciate your surroundings. After feeling a little bit ‘blah’ and ‘oh my god words why are you not coming to me?!’ (we’ve all been there) an afternoon out at a nearby castle was just what I needed. I think sometimes I forget what there is to experience, and within 5 minutes drive from my house you’re out in the wonderful countryside.
Of course, I couldn’t resist taking my new camera lens to take a few outfit shots. Believe it or not, this outfit cost my less than £10 (excluding the hat). If you hadn’t already realised, I’m a big charity shopping fan and I’m always on the hunt for bargains, of which I’ve been lucky enough to find plenty. This blouse is a very recent purchase from a charity shop in town. It’s actually originally Primark, much to my surprise – how amazing is it’s collar?! I tend to wear more high collars, so this low cut was a little out of my comfort zone, but I just popped on a cami underneath and I was good to go! Looking back at these photographs, this skirt isn’t the most flattering of shapes (my less-than-flat stomach is making a bit of an appearance.. I LOVE FOOD TOO MUCH OKAY?!), alas I love it’s mustard hue. Again, this is also from Primark, so it’s fit isn’t exactly top notch, more of a square, but hey ho. Although you can’t see them very clearly in the photograph, I’ve paired this outfit with some black leather loafers I found brand new a few years ago at another charity shop. They’re super comfy and look rather adorable, if I do say so myself, with a pair of cute ankle socks.
What’s your opinion on charity shopping?
